Boxing great Muhammad Ali, known for his unabashed self confidence and his outspoken stance on social and humanitarian causes, has been declared the recipient of the 2012 Liberty Medal.
Seventy year old Ali, will receive the medal in a ceremony on  September 13 in Philadelphia at the National Constitution Centre on Independence Mall.

Brendan Hansen will make an Olympic comeback at London 2012 after winning the 100m breaststroke on day two of the US Olympic trials at Omaha.

Hansen, 30, had retired after Beijing 2008 after failing to win an individual gold in two attempts at the Olympics.

But after winning in 59.68 seconds, he said: "I'm really proud of myself for sticking to it and working hard.


Olivier Giroud signs for Arsenal from Montpellier Featured

Arsenal have finalised the signing of Olivier Giroud from Montpellier for a reported £12m.

The France international, 25, completed a medical and paperwork with the club on Monday evening.
